Since the last post in 2018 a lot has changed in the world. A global pandemic has hit, personal and professional growth and changes in health have come up but this past year has been a big shift in norm. I'm still happily employed at my current company, namely Digital Domain and have been lucky to be working this entire year.
At the beginning of the year we wrapped up Marvel's Black Widow that has been pushed to 2021. Helped out on Free Guy with Ryan Reynolds and got to work on an Amazon series called Carnival Row. One that is entering its second season on the streaming platform.
This year has also been a transition from working in the office to working from home during this pandemic. It has been 9 months already as we got sent home on my birthday, March 17th. A weird thought that I have not set foot in the building since that time. Luckily the company got everything rolling remarkably fast and working from home has been almost like being in the office. One thing I do truly miss is the direct interaction with co-workers. On the opposite side my new home office is in my collection room and to this day it's still fun to be working next to Grogu, Ecto-1, Delorean and the majority of my Marvel collection.
With movie theatres closed until further notice, a lot has been going to streaming services and I've been watching more and more stuff in the comfort of my own home. Something that to be honest I'm pretty much fine with. Where else can one enjoy something like the Mandalorian in all it's 4K HDR glory. As for other forms of entertainment I've been getting more into game on PS4/5 this year. Recording and publishing it on youtube.
This year I've gotten myself into my first ever relationship, which lasted about 6.5 months and was great from beginning to end. Even after the breakup we managed to stay in contact. Near the end of the year though, some health issues popped up that I will be dealing with for the rest of my life but it's all very manageable. The current estimate of a full recovery is in less than six months with a few repeat out patient treatments in the hospital.
All in all this year has been a rollercoaster and having the support of great friend, family and my work has helped me keep my chin up through it all. I do truly wish that 2021 will be a great year and the start of an exciting journey.
Happy Holidays for all of you and let's make the best of what we have left of this year!
